Description: Ivanov was a Symbolist poet but 17 of the 28 items here are settings of his Sappho translations, the biggest group the 18 minutes from Lourié which have a marked Impressionistic style while the remainder are set in a conservative Romanticism as exemplified especially by Myaskovsky's 1908 set.
