Description: The title of this release is “Cherubini in Wien” and its subtitle “The March from Les deux journées as anti-Napoleonic exhortation in Empress Marie Therese’s Vienna 1802-1805”. Very academic-sounding! Another thread running through it is music from two operas about the Bluebeard character so there’s a mixture of unknown and bettter-known music, all of it on period instruments (yes, a keyed trumpet was used for the premiere of Hummel’s concerto). Herbert Walser-Breuss (keyed trumpet), Concerto Stella Matutina; Martin Skamletz.
