Description: Inspired by John Cage's and Alison Knowles' book "Notations" (1967), which printed facsimiles of various types of modern musical notation, this collection of modern piano music written in the 1950s ranges from strict dodecaphony (Zimmermann) to less-strict (Dallapiccola) to indeterminacy (Wolff) to graphic notation (Berg), graphic mixed with conventional notation (Bussotti) to the relatively tonal Lutoslawski. Anyway, you get the idea: no easy listening here. Steffen Schleiermacher (piano).
