Description: 32 minutes of First Recordings in this new release. Lyapunov really blends the Russian national Romanticism of the Balakirev school with the virtuosic tradition of Liszt and this release, covering all of his career from 1888 to 1919, amplifies this categorization. The mazurkas especially are like miniature tone poems while the Scherzo, at ten minutes longer than the following three-movement Sonatine, almost cries out for orchestration. 32 minutes of First Recordings - *. Margarita Glebov (piano).
