Description: Although Dittersdorf was a violinist and wrote many of his 40-odd concertos for that instrument, this new recording is the only currently available one of any of his violin concertos. Only one other one exists of the Stamitz while the biographically-challenged Kallick is completely new to us and to the catalogue (the work sounds like it belongs to the same generation as Stamitz) while Skroup, the father of the more famous early Romantic Czech composer, provides a tiny, five-minute concerto. None of these works are dated. Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra; Petr Chromcák.
