Description: Escaich structures this recital by improvising interludes between the four main works and, in classic French style, closes with a six-minute improvisation in memory of Tomasi. A realistic recording captures the size of the cathedral, with ambient sound, echo and the two instruments providing a colorful and vivid picture of a quintessentially French genre of the 20th century.
