Description: Dating from around 1760, the Polonaises, a set lasting 43 minutes in this performance, show an originality, concentration and breadth of expression which argue for Friedemann's place as an important and significant composer of the early Classical period. The 1745 sonata, in its expressive aims and technical demands also poses levels of difficulty rarely encountered in keyboard music of the period. Robert Hill (fortepiano).
