Description: Penderecki wrote his four-movement, 11-minute piece for the soloist on this recording just last year, ironic with elements of grotesquerie in its fast movements but with a Larghetto like a wordless lament. Say’s 2010 concerto was also composed for Boldoczki and is highly rhythmical and colorful with a third movement based on a Turkish folksong.
