Description: Abos was Maltese but lived, taught and composed for most of his life in Naples where he had studied under Durante, Girolamo Ferraro and Gaetano Greco. All three of these works are firmly in the Neapolitan galant style, mostly in festive and bright moods, alternating choral and solo numbers with the two big works - the mass and the Benedictus - each at around half an hour in length and likely written about the same time in the mid 1750s. Latin-English texts. Mailys de Villoutreys, Zoe Brown (sopranos), Myriam Arbouz (alto), George Pooley (tenor), Mauro Borgioni (bass), Kölner Akademie; Michael Alexander Willens.
