Description: This new volume of the series is arranged chronologically, giving us the decade and a half between 1913 (the Pieces) and 1929 (Little Suite). These were the years where Alexandrov developed a personal style founded on Scriabin and Medtner and almost everything here has more or less of these older pianist-composers in it except for the Sixth sonata where Prokofiev and Shostakovich seem to briefly be noticed. An important series for rediscovering the man whom critic Victor Belayev in 1927 called, along with Myaskovsky and Samuil Feinberg "the most outstanding representatives of the new era". Kyung-Ah Noh (piano).
