Description: The cpo version of this came out in March 2008 (03J003) and we summed up our blurb by saying "...there is much here that sounds like a film score for a jungle movie but there is a lot more as well." Aside from the reason that this new release is budget-priced, there is another one which even collectors of the previous series should pay attention to: this is based on newly revised score made by the São Paolo SO's publishing house in association with the Academia Brasilleira de Música. Nothing in the notes about this but this recording clocks in at 60:47 while the cpo was 73:30 and one can presume that can't be entirely due to interpretation. Also, the tenor part is taken here by the tenor section of the choir. Tupi, Portuguese, Latin-English texts. Leonardo Neiva (baritone), Saulo Javan (bass), São Paolo Symphony Orchestra and Choir; Isaac Karabtchevsky.
