Description: A very useful addition to the song repertoire of both the Parry-Stanford and the Coleridge-Taylor- Scott generations of English composers. Rosetti's so-called "children's poems" make an interesting source for the various composers' settings (three of A Birthday and two of Kookoorookoo and Ferry me). Most of these composers are poorly represented in recordings as to their songs. Texts included. Elisabetta Paglia (mezzo), Christopher Howell (piano).
