Description: This restores to the catalogue material only previously recorded by the Tal & Groethuysen duo on Sony 21 years ago (they omitted repeats and took everything rather faster and are, anyway, out of print). Gouvy's loyalty to the German school was never more evident than in these flowing and elegant sonatas (1861, 1869 and 1870) which breathe the same air as Schubert and Schuman.
