Description: All three works here have been offered in these pages at full-price (a different arrangment of the piano quintet, making one wonder if this is a parlor game among conductors of string orchestras) but this is a good way for the uninitiated to make Bacewicz' acquaintance. Her personal style of neo-classicism derives from her study in France and the gritty, rhythmically driven 1946 symphony is her most-performed work.
