Description: Here's a real ironic release, even referred to in its one page of notes (don't fret, there are four pages of artist bios). Khrennikov, as Secretary of the Composer's Union for most of his adult life, was responsible for the conditions in the USSR which forced the soloists here to leave their native country. And here are three of the most famous instrumentalists of their generation, in their mid- and late-teens (both Kissin and Repin were born in 1971 and Vengerov in 1974; this live recording was made in 1988.), probably semi-forced to play three of his highly melodic and brilliantly orchestrated Socialist Realism concertos. Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio; Vladimir Fedoseyev.
