NIELS W. GADE (1817-1890): Piano Sonata in E Minor, Op. 28, Aquarellen, Op. 19, Neue Aquarelle, Op. 57, Andantino, discarded former 4th movement of Piano Sonata.

Description: Except for this sonata, which Gade worked on for 15 years (!) before it was printed in 1854, all of his piano works are in the vein of salon music or character pieces, mostly of moderate difficulty (he himself was not a professional pianist). 22 years ago, Marco Polo/Dacapo released three CDs containing all of it but they didn't offer the original second movement of the sonata, which Gade discarded during its long gestation period.
