Description: A brand-new audiophile recording of this cantata from 1936-38 allows us to enjoy the brilliant, film-score style orchestration and the sharply dramatic choral interjections much better than the old 1960s recording which was reissued in the 90s on Unicorn-Kanchana ever could. Here also is the world premiere recording of the original version of the 1935-36 Sinfonietta, Hermann's only brush with Schoenberg and which was never performed but recycled in 1960 as a model for the last half of the Psycho film score (like "The Madhouse" and "The Swamp").
