Description: Some of Bridge's most evocative, darkly sensual and highly chromatic pieces are on this final release in the series. Late Romanticism darkens a bit more in the Poems of 1913-14 but the Improvisations of 1918, for a soldier who'd lost his right arm, are harbingers of his late period of expanded tonality. Many of these pieces have not been on CD since the Peter Jacobs Continuum series of 1990. Mark Bebbington (piano).
