CARL REINECKE (1824-1910): Cello Sonatas No. 1 in A Minor, Op. 42, No. 2 in D, Op. 89 & No. 3 in G, Op. 238.

Description: Written in the mid-1840s, 1866 and 1897, these sonatas represent the Leipzig tradition: Schumann (especially the First), Mendelssohn (First and Second) and Brahms, with the only dark clouds in the Third, written just after the latter's death, which is suffused with melancholy and mourning.
