Description: Works for piano and orchestra by Azerbaijani composers, which means that what you hear here are authentic melodies and rhythms (even if, in the case of Amirov/Nazirova [the latter is a pianist who co-composed the concerto], those melodies and rhythms are Arab [but mixed with Azerbaijani ones]) rather than faux "Orientalisms". The impact is dazzling and the mountains of glittering percussion and blaring brass will certainly disturb the neighbors!
