Description: This is the last volume of this series (except for Vol. 6 which presumably will appear shortly) so we remind you that Andersen was a founding member and solo flute with the Berlin Philharmonic until 1891 when he returned to Denmark and became a formidable orchestra trainer and conductor of the Tivoli Orchestra. The titles of these pieces pretty much tell you all you need to know: sentimental salon pieces, mixed with brilliant, virtuosic opera fantasies and variations on various European folk tunes. Thomas Jensen (flute), Frode Stengaard (piano).
