Description: Yet more for Braunfels fans, these two coming from 1945 and 1948. In their looking back to Mahler and German early-century expressionism it’s as if it’s music that the composer would have written just before he was affectively proscribed by the Nazi regime - the quintet especially since there is more warmth and relaxation in the Sinfonia concertante, especially in the finale which has a Gallic brightness and optimism to it.
