Description: Two French harp trios on opposite sides of the modern divide, Renié’s 1901 work, four movements and 32 minutes in length, redolent of Franckian late Romanticism while Ibert’s, a three-movement piece just hitting 17 minutes is, well, “Ibertian”. Not even being written in pre-liberated France in 1944 could stifle the composer’s effervescent personality. Antoine Bareil (violin), Stéphane Tétreault (cello), Valérie Milot (harp).
