Description: Consider this a pendant to the series of symphonic Lemeland offered over the last 15 or so years by this label. Lemeland nods to Impressionism only in the nine-minute sequence of Marines - seascapes from the Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy dedicated to the daughter of Jean Cras. The Ballades are ten extracts from the 45 originally written with narrative, based on letters and poetry from American soldiers during World War II, here for piano solo. No texts. Jean-Pierre Ferey (piano) Chrystel Marchand (second piano), Nathalie Bécue (voice - Symphony).
