Description: World Premiere Recording of these 14 pieces which, given their stylistic affinity to the late chamber music of J.C. Bach, are possibly the very last group of works written by Abel before alcoholism finally got him; another example of Abel as the last great cultivator, as composer and performer, of the viola da gamba, an exotic instrument from history at the time he popularized it in England (see also 10J032 and 03K028). 2 CDs.
