Description: Pianist-composers and composers of the Romantic period sought to bring Scarlatti into their period by subtle and not-so-subtle arrangements of his single-movement, binary sonatas (and Granados highlighted the Spanish elements in his rather impressive series of arrangments). We also have five 20th century pianists represented here who, for the most part, use Scarlatti as a jumping-off point for wildly virtuosic and entertaining homages. Sandro Russo (piano).
