Description: Given that Sinding wrote five violin sonatas and two suites, and that only one of them is on this disc, this should be a long and attractive series. The majority of these pieces are in Sinding's typical ebullient and vivacious manner, with only the Cantus doloris (1906), on the death of his stepson, the Alte Weise (played at his wife's funeral in 1936), and the Berceuse departing from that persona. Henning Kraggerud (violin), Christian Ihle Hadland (piano).
