Description: This collection contains the rare SPA LP recordings of Antheil as pianist and of two of his orchestral works which were made in 1951-53 as well as private recordings made by the composer himself of the Stories for Peter in 1942. A 17-minute track of the composer speaking in 1958 for KPPC radio in Pasadena and a 1981 Charles Amirkhanian interview of conductor Adler's widow and Norman Fox, who was president of SPA Recordings, makes up a fascinating document of Antheil's music and personal life in his Hollywood years of 1942-59. The heavy, 60-page booklet is English-only, with plenty of documentation, sketches and photographs. 2 CDs. Mono. Texts included.
