Description: Hindemith’s influence dominates in Reizenstein, though his effusive energy producing highly spirited and less sober results clearly distinguishes him from British composers like Rawsthorne and Berkeley. The Serenade (1953) is the most Hindemithian piece here while the concerto of 1961 is marked by exuberant virtuosity, which produces brilliant interplay between the soloist and the orchestra and the 1951 concert overture is a powerful, energetic work. Oliver Triendl (piano), Nuremberg Symphony; Yaron Traub.
