Description: A wiry, Bartókian style permeates the 1982 quartet, in which the rustic/erudite, diatonic/chromatic contrasts so evident in almost all Lopes-Graça’s works blend seamlessly rather than call attention to themselves as they do in the very dramatic and striking piano quartet of 1938 (rev. and premiered in 1963).
