MARIO CASTELNUOVO-TEDESCO (1895-1968): Appunti, Op. 210.

Description: Left unfinished at his death “Notes” was intended to be a collection of relatively simple pieces for students - not really etudes but concerned with technique while letting the players think they were playing “real music”.  Four “Books” were intended but only two survive: “The Intervals” and “The Rhythms” (the latter consisting of three parts: dances from the 17th and 18th, the 19th and the 20th centuries). Two short pieces are included which are all that are left of the third “Book” “The Figurations”. Attractive listening (how could it be otherwise from this composer?) for the guitar aficionado. 2 CDs.
