Description: The 1977 concerto, a 20-minute work in three movements, was originally written for harpsichordist Rafael Puyana and adapted for piano some years later. Some influences of Falla's harpsichord concerto can be heard in its austere slow movement but this is mostly modern European music, with no traces of Spanish influences although its title refers to a district of Granada. The piano pieces are all late, dating from 1982-2001, and are much more in the gnomic tradition of his friend Mompou, some using free serial technique, others, like "Noah's Ark" and "Five Free Birds", brief series of tonal vignettes. Jordi Masó (piano).
