Description: This is the fifth new release with a piece by Laks to appear in three years so we presume you know his Auschwitz survival story by now. Dating from 1932, it fits in well with the music which dominated Paris at the time - Ravel, Poulenc, Honegger - with a particularly dark, smoky slow movement indebted to Ravel's "Blues" movement in his violin sonata Raphael Wallfisch (cello), John York (piano).
