Description: Known primarily as a composer for his songs (over 200 of them), Jordan was inspired by Grieg, Sibelius, Rachmaninov and Puccini (the last in their operatic style and fondness for high registers); they range from ecstatic nature intoxication to numbing desolation. The piano pieces are often of a refined salon nature with the Sonatine of 1955 the only example of his instrumental music presented here. Norwegian texts. Hilde Haraldsen Sveen (soprano), Turid Bakke Braut (piano), Gro Sandvik (flute). SACD hybrid
