Description: Although he never got around to attempting a complete opera using Metastasio's libretto, Mozart did write six complete arias using his texts with the last, K.440, coming in 1782. Sabine Radermacher has put together 13 minutes of spoken text (Metastasio translated into German), the 50 minutes of the six composed arias along with a remaining half hour comprised of Mozart compositions from 1769-78 providing atmosphere and scenarios. As she points out, the six arias contain more music than L'Oca del Cairo or Lo sposo deluso, two of his three "official" fragments. 2 CDs. German-English texts.
