CARL CZERNY (1791-1857): Piano Concertinos in C, Op. 78 and in C, Op. 650, Fantaisie et Variations brillantes sur une Romance de Blangini, Op. 3 (all World Premiere Recordings).
Catalogue Number: 08Z013
Description: Much of Carl Czerny’s concert music for piano was considered ‘wild and almost unplayable’ in his day, but these world premiere recordings reveal inspired melodic writing, great skill in orchestration and colorful virtuoso challenges in a program that includes his final Concertino, Op. 650, from 1841. This is the final release in the Naxos edition of works for piano and orchestra by Czerny. Rosemary Tuck (piano), English Chamber Orchestra; Richard Bonynge.
