Description: Respighi’s output of piano music is as good as unknown, and this new series will be the first ever to present it all: original works and transcriptions alike, for solo piano, piano four hands and two pianos. This first installment crowns his earliest keyboard compositions (the andantes of 1896 and the sonata from 1897-98) with the magisterial preludes on Gregorian melodies, miniature Lisztian tone-poems from 1921 presented with Busonian grandeur.
