Description: The little information provided with this release tells us that Carelli was known as the “Singer of Suffering”. We aren’t told how many Funeral Marches he wrote but, if these are any indication, they are not little pieces; no. 14 is 35 minutes long and the other two are 15 and 18 and they are connected with a yearly Easter procession in the composer’s home town of Bitonto. The instrumentation is for wind orchestra and the first thing which may come timing is Berlioz’ Sinfonia funèbre without the trionfale. Wish we could tell you more but there were no audio files available to sample… Orchestra Sinfonica di Fiati “Davide delle Cose” Città di Bitonto.
