Description: This promises to be an interesting series for piano buffs. Brother of the more famous Polibio, Adolfo was renowed throughout Europe for his dazzling technique - particularly his left-hand-alone pieces - was praised by Liszt and Busoni kept several of his compositions in his performing repertoire. The mini-tone-poems of the École moderne, each with poetic texts attached, are reminiscent of the Liszt of the Années de pèlerinage and the Fantaisies also worthy of that master but tuberculosis wiped Fumagalli from historical memory... Adalberto Maria Riva (piano).
