Description: This violinist/composer's ebullient nature is present through most of these 1741 works which vary in form (three, four and five movements, some with only one fast or only one slow movement) and experiment in instrumentation (a violin solo in No. 1 of concerto-like quality, a harpsichord suddenly appearing in the Largo of No. 4). The last concerto, carrying the subtitle il Pianto d'Arianna, suggests an operatic scena using only instrumental means. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Chamber Orchestra; Hartmut Haenchen.
