Description: This is the second flute chamber disc of Genzmer's music we've had in the last year and, though he wrote even more for the viola, his output for this instrument was pretty large. A noted German flutist, Gustav Scheck (1901-1964), the dedicatee of the flute concerto on the other Thorofon disc above, said that Genzmer "resembles a French composer in his understanding fo the inner essence of the flute, its color and sensitivity, as well as its enormous technical possibilities." These works come from early (the 1944 sonata), middle (1981-2, 1988 and 1990) and late (the Dialoge from 2003 and 2005) periods in Genzmer's career.
