Description: His name an Italianization of Weissenburg, this composer was either Swiss or Austrian (little is known of his early life) but these concertos, published in 1704 but probably written around 1700, show complete familiarity with Corellian style with French and German elements added. Virtuosic solo parts for violin (and, in three concerti, oboe) appear in many and two of concertos have an entire string quartet as "soloists". 2 CDs.
