Description: This recording was made in the Royal Albert Hall on October 10, 1976 as part of a four-concert mini-festival marking the centenary of Brian’s birth. “Part One” means only that it’s the non-choral parts that we have here as the original intention of giving the work whole at the time was scotched again by the financial and practical challenges which were finally overcome four years later with the Ole Schmidt complete performance.
