Description: A relatively youthful work, the Op. 2 trio sonatas come from after Caldara's move from Venice to Rome where he plainly learned everything he needed to know from Corelli. The sonatas are a bit of a mystery: they are from 1735 but none of these seven are among the six just offered three months ago on Newton Classics (03P025) which carried numbers as high as 16 (these have no numbering but none of the keys match the Newtons). 2 CDs.
