Description: World Premiere Recording of the 1894 Suite of some 38 minutes length, Rubinstein's penultimate orchestral work. It's confirmation perhaps of Tchaikovsky's influence in terms of its form and it is made up of five movements: Prélude, Élégie (funereal, a tribute to Tchaikovsky?), Capriccio (as fun as a Glazunov scherzo), Scherzo (slightly Brucknerian with an endearing, galumphing trio) and Finale (with the feeling of the last movement of a symphony). How did this go unrecorded until now? Grigorios Zamparas (piano), Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra; Jon Ceander Mitchell.
