Description: This Argentinian composer, whose first disc was offered here in October 2009 (10L088) spent much of his career teaching at the University of Colorado but his native country never left his music. Two of these works are still imbued with the spirit and rhythms of the his native country (City Twilights and the sonata), while Beyond Departure is an in memoriam piece for his brother which uses various extended playing techniques and Con Fervor, a song cycle to the composer's own texts, is the most unusual in that it is a revision of an original twelve-tone work, brought up to date with Gonzalez's later, tonal style. Spanish-English texts.
