Description: For collectors of the ongoing Naxos Martinu series. Most of these pieces have multiple recordings but Les rondes, originally just titled Moravian Dances and dating from 1930, is the most Janacek-sounding work Martinu wrote, while this complete version of La revue (where Pot loves Lid but must overcome romantic challenges from Whisk, among other travails) is only the second after Hogwood's own recording (at 18 minutes, almost three minutes shorter than this one for those of you who want to compare) for Supraphon in 2004. Robert Hill (harpsichord), Holst Sinfonietta; Klaus Simon (piano - Les rondes).
