LUIGI BOCCHERINI (1743-1805): 6 Piano Quartets, G259 (from 6 String Quartets, Op. 26, G195-200).

Description: We call your attention to last month's 06N035, a two-piano version of these op. 26 string quartets by an anonymous transcriber. Well, the same Dresden library also has this anonymous transcription which adds a piano, giving the first violin part to the pianist's right hand while the left hand shares the bass with the cello. The second violin and viola part go to the remaining strings. So now we have two transcriptions but no recordings of the original string quartets. Weird.
