Description: In the notes (but not on the cover or traycard), it says that this is Volume One - 15 of 31 solo violin sonatas likely written between 1745 and 1750 and revised throughout Tartini's life - but as to whether the recording, made in 1997, has ever appeared anywhere else in the last 15 years, we don't know. At the other end of the spectrum from Vivaldi's simple harmonic structures and relentless rhythmic intensity, these pieces inhabit a world of the operatic aria, some bearing mottos and literary quotations like those appended to many of Tartini's violin concertos. 2 CDs. Crtomir Siskovic (violin).
