Description: Something new in this series - the first three of twelve works which combined a solo violin (or two violins) with the multiple-movement French overture genre at which Telemann was so proficient. The long, opening "Overtures" are without the violin but succeeding movements (most of them anyway) feature it in Italian concerto-like fashion or as a figure leading the dance in the second parts of dance movements.
